It does hurt when you hear the closest people to you criticize you, the way you live, the way you deal with things, and the way you CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESS. Though I don’t really give a shit to what they think and it never mattered to me, it does hurt me when I remember that these people are supposed to be the most supportive ones, the people I should rely on in my good and bad times! It’s funny that they still wonder why I don’t like sticking around them! We lack that old bond we had because of your non- civilized mentality, so it’s not my fault.
Mom, I know your not going to read this, but I’d like to get this out of my system and thank you for the great person you are, the most supportive one of them all, thank you for appreciating me, thank you for being proud of me, thank you for believing in me; and in my abilities. I know that they wish they were in my place and have a mother as open minded and great as you, but guess what suckers? She’s all miiiiine! And if it weren’t you, I wouldn’t be the confident person I am who never cared but for you.
I feel sorry for u suckers, the world is in a continuous change, people are changing and you guys still have a mentality of the stone age. You were never as successful as I am, and are followers of our so called cultural taboos, so don't dare and compare myself to you. Everything is considered 3aib *shameful* for you guys even speeking out your mind and DRIVING A CAR, screw your shitty beliefs when I’m not doing anything wrong and have my parents and his approval, screw you, u all suck!
I have so much anger in me right now and I guess I have to stop here and not spill out their dirty laundry!

It seems that openmindness have been translated differently when it came to our culture. Right now its the trend and many people think that doing what westerners do is openmindness.... sad :(

I had someone very close to me once and things have changed for the same reason,, i used to be young and by the time i grew up and my mentality changed.. they just paused and want me to pause with them,, i dont know really they already have reached they're goal in life,, they are satisfied with where they are and consider their lives are complete.. i on the other hand just started living i still want more and am aiming for higher and i feel like i knt relate to them like before..
Now that is not the main reason for why were not as attached as before bss it is a major reason for me, which i think they dont understand..
Anyways.. thats life we try our best to fix things but its like a glass vase when its broken its extremely difficult to built it again and if u were able to, it would never look as it looked before.. it would always look broken..
i am not saying that there is no hope for any relation to get back together after going through a detachment phase.. but out of exprience where i have tried this many times.. it never goes back exactly the way it was.. its as simple as that..
Dont think of whatever has been broken just try to save what you have.. and am sure, coz i know u well, that the people supporting you are just enough and its all that you could ever ask for.. trust me.. not everyone has wht you have..

adinomorato, religion is a personal thing and of course if one is a believer, one will try and follow it as much as one can. However, interpretations of religion change with time, and adapt with changing society. I do understand what you're saying about western influence, but things have changed in the UAE and people change...but that's not to say one should lose their morals and forget religious teachings.
Noora seems pressured by cultural taboos, such as being criticised for speaking her mind, and driving. These have nothing to do with religion.
