Jinxed ..

I got Jinxed , By non other than me. Here's why :

1) The Morning we're supposed to leave the cruise, we got a letter saying that the workers in the spanish Airport are going on a strike.

2) We reached the port, our designated driver was late.

3) The Airport was unbelievably crammed we had to stand in cue for 2 1/2 hrs, just to check in.

4) Our plane was delayed.

5) 2 hrs later, turns out we missed our plane, because of a misprint in our boarding passes.

6) We looked for another plane; we were on the waiting list ofcourse.

7) Our luggage were missing

8) 24 hrs later, they delieved our luggage.

9) 45 minutes ago, my mom was nearly attacked by some Moroccan guy.

So yeah, i cant wait for the rest really. I blame myself ofcourse lol

Hhmm, i can hear someone laughing somewhere

away Brussel-ing

My Mood: EXCIIIIITED!
My music: Salam by Rashed AlMajed

I'm off to Belgium in a few hours, god I miss that place! I swear packing my bags and getting on an airplane is getting harder to do. I spent the whole night packing, slept for 3 hours then woke up early to weight my bag, gosh that new rule in the airport sucks, ur bag shouldn't weight more than 20 - 30 kgs, thank god am somewhere in-between lol.. and thanks to my inlaws who'v helped me pack my extra trolley bag.

Anyway, this time I am anxious to leave because I believe I do need the change, not to mention my best friends not sticking around in the country "besides, M arrived today morning and I didn't get to c her!" which removes that yummy flavor of fun.. Won't be away for very long though, but will definitely miss you and update once I log on to the internet.

Till then,
Noora

My latest update

Hey guys, how've u been? I never would've thought i would miss blogging this much. Well i thought i will update you guys on whats happening in my life at the moment, so am stealing a few minutes to reconnect with you. We have currently stopped at the port of Palma De Mallorca. Oh wait a minute, my last update was in Barca so i guess i skipped a few events. Ok then lets recap.

This has been my first cruise, and so far it has been the best experience in my life. I mean i never thought one could have so much fun, and learn soo much in such a short time. The cruise tour was to take us around the coast of Southern Europe; France, Italy, Spain, and a few other Islands. Seriously i have never seen anything like this. The Royal Caribbean is one incredible place. I mean there are countless activities you can get involved in, from dancing lessons, to swimmings to Bingo, shopping, Kareoke ( Not sure about the spelling), skating, wine tasting, gambling, and sooo much more. The people are unbelievably friendly and the views are just out of a picture album. Its perfect.

Our first stop was in Marseille. The weather there was incredible, and the views were just beautiful. I felt soo stupid taking photos every single second on every single corner. But hey, if you were there you would know why. While we were sailing off to Rome, we passed by Chateau D'if, yes thats the same Chateau from the Count of Monte Cristo. The Chateau was unbelievable, a bit spooky though. The next morning we arrived in Rome. And needless to say, the monumnets, churches, great masterpeices of artworks, and the supernatural architecture is just too difficult for me to describe, because i know no matter how much i tried i would still not give it justice. We visited the great Saint Peter church, the Colloseum, the Pantheon, and took panoramic pictures. The weather was a bit warm, but hell it was all worth it. Moving on, next stop, Napoli. Our main objective was the city of Pompeii. For those of you who are not familliar with it, its the city built 2000 years ago and was buried by the hot lava of Mountain Vesuvius. It was one thing studying about it in books, but once i stepped foot in that city, i just stood there in Awe. For human beings to be this sophisticated and intelligent 2000 years ago, was astonishing. What was even more interesting was seeing the human forms, in the exact same posture they were when they died, that to me was pretty extraordinary. We then took a tour to what i believe is and without doubt the most beautiful view ever; Positano. Villages were perfectly alligned on the mountain with the most glorious view of the ocean. Everything was so simple and picture-like. Next stop, Malta. This small country was so rich in culture. It felt like i was watching a movie set some 2000 years ago. The architecture was so distinct from anything i ever saw before. It was all very charming, like a fairy tale. Houses were all made of local stone and castles setteled so gracefully as if it all belonged to a different era. Oh F.Y.I, Troy and Gladiator were also shot here. And finally Palma De Mallorca, its yet to be discovered lol.

Even if this cruise did not include all these stops, one would still have a fabulous time. There is so much to do and soo little time. After we're done from our tours, we get ready for dinner and a night of spectacular events awaits us. Everyone in the ship dresses up and heads to the main auditorium, where different shows are played every night. First couple of days, dancers danced to the music of Broadway. They performed to Chicago, Evita, Moulan Rouge, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, The sound of music, then to the most memorable moments in Hollywood; Titanic, Dirty dancing, Grease, the supremes, Ray chareles, and soo much more i cant even rememeber. The night was so glamorous, from the bright lights to the glittery curtains to the fake eyelashes. It felt like i was in a movie.Yesterday's show was of a soul band. They literally rocked the house, i mean we were all on our feet shaking and dancing, it was pretty funny actually.

Well, there is so mcuh i want to tell you, so much to describe, but my head hurts trying to squeeze out everything lol. We're leaving to Munich tommorow, so till then take care.

P. S : The roost, i can here you making comments about how people are dying and am here having the time of my life lol. Like i said, i deserve to have some fun, you know, considering ..

P.P.S: A recommendation : If you are married, or soon to be, i definitly recommend it to you people, because its such a romantic set, you'll just love it, not that spending it with family isnt fun, or is it ??

Weirdo!

My Mood: *_* WTF
My Music: n-o-n-e

I was in the mall shopping with a friend.
Then in a dressing room trying some clothes on,
Heard a voice outside the door talking to my friend.
Dressed up in my clothes again,
Opened the door,
Saw a women with a deformed face, (Alhamduli'allah Allathy A'afana)
Thought it's someone she knew,
I ignored.

Heard a WEIRD conversation between them,
I approached, "what's wrong?"
"The clothes you girls are wearing!" she said.
"What do you mean?" I replied.
"The jeans your wearing, it's a shame that your wearing it under your Abaya",
"It does not show your identity, your a Muslim!" she said.
"What's wrong with that? U said I'm wearing it UNDER my Abaya? There's a difference between wearing it under my Abaya and WITHOUT an Abaya in my country" in my WANT TO CHOKE HER TO DEATH voice!
"What difference does it make?" she replied.
"A big one!" I said.

She kept on talking, I ignored.
Held my friend's hand,
Walked away,
and thought
What a freak!

p.s. If only I see you now WEIRDO!

Noora

* (Alhamduli'allah Allathy A'afana): We thank you god for our good health.
* (Abaya): is a traditional/islamic black custom worn in the UAE, it's purpose is to cover a women's body.

Sleepy head

My Mood: ZZzzzz
My Music: Alfajr Alba'eed by Mohammed Abdu

I sooo wanna sleep right now n I miss blabbing "yes, my frnds r away"..lol. I slept for 2 hours last night n my mom woke me up early today to go out with her coz I promised to. Since dad isn't excited about our vacation this summer, my mom, brother, n urs truly had to do all the reservations n what so ever "yes, am traveling this weekend."

Hmm.. what else? ooohh yeaah, speaking of my awful sleeping habbits "I rarely get a fair amount of sleep", I slept in the AutoCad class 2daaay and the instructor saw me! It waaaaaas soooooooo embarraaaassiiiinnggg (THANK YOU MOM FOR WAKING ME UP EARLY!), but she ignored coz my eyes were reaaally red "n they still are". After leaving the class, I got hyper n I thought of shopping for my vacation since Burjuman (a mall in Dubai) is reaaaaaallyy close to the institute, so I told my friends that they can leave coz they were in a hurry n am gonna shop by my self n then will call the driver to come pick me up "no, I don't drive". I was looking for clothes "I never have enough" and I ended up MAKE-UP shopping lol! Imagine, after shopping n all, I had to wait for the driver for an hour, I had no idea where to go and I was so hungry that I thought my hungry tummy is worth the embarrassment of eating alone in a restaurant "I know it's depressing" n I couldn't care less, I thought I was gonna faint coz I couldn't focus on what's around, everything turned dim n blurry lol.

Before losing control of my sight, I noticed maaaany fashion NO NO'S while having my treats. Seriously, whatz with people n the BLING THING*? whats with people and LOGO'Z, what's with the LEOPARD print?! AAAAAH we've always wished if we were the FASHION POLICE n had a booth in every signle mall in the UAE. We'd arrest any1 wearing a Dior logo'd shirt, on a cavalli jeans, OBVIOUS Gucci shades, and OBVIOUS PRADA bag! PEOPLE, UR ABUSING BRAND NAMES!

Read this carefully:
* LOGOMANIA IS GROSS, don't wear head to toe one designer.
* Don't be too matchy-matchy (matching your shoes with your bags is a NO NO btw!)
* Never follow "IT" bags because they will be so over soon.
* Never wear those awful fake bags, like the LV speedy I saw with a Gucci print, Top Shop bags are amazing, WEAR THEM INSTEAD!
* Never wear more than 2 pieces of jewellery "that's for u to deside"
* DENIM X DENIM SUCKS!
* Never wear black too much coz ur not a Jolie, just break it up with a color, either the shoes or the bag.
* Never wear a color in different tones, coz u'll end up you looking like a blurry spot.
* Wear only one distinctive, unusual, "statement" piece at a time, with any print, but one at a time.
* Don't mix too many colors/prints, u'll end up looking like a funky clown!
* Pants/Jeans should sit on the hips, not at the waist & never tuck in ur shirt "unless ur a model with a gorgeous figure and wearing a high waisted FENDI buckle belt"
* No red lipstick with a black eyeshadow, it's too "hooker-ish" lol, a fine black eyeliner would do.
* Never EVER have anyone be able to mistake you for a Hilton, u can be a chick without the blonde hightlights, the pink lip GLOSS n blue eye pencil!
* Swap clothes, bags and accessories with your friends, we do that alot!
*..and finally, be confident and believe in ur style.

Heeeeyy

Hey guys, God i´ve missed you. I am talking to you right now from a cafe in Barca. I can´t even begin to explain and describe to you how UNBELIEVABLY amazing it is. I mean there is sooo much to write about, so much to tell, and soo little time to do so

First of all i would like to thank you Noora for keeping the blog alive, and to the rooster, Thanx for commenting. well enough about you guys and lets talk about me lol. So i´ve been here for almost 5 days, and so far it has been an incredible experience. On our first day, we took a tour bus to visit all the sites Before this i knew Barcelona held many historical must see sites, but i had no idea it had this many. I was literally in the center of all those art works that made history. Ofcourse i´m talking about the history of design and Architecture. I can understand if you guys cant understand my excitment, but hell, i witnessed them with my own eyes, appreciated them, and for the first time, understood its power. Barca holds the masterpieces of great architects, the pioneers of modern Achitecture. Works of the Architects Antonio Gaudi, Calatrava, Meis Van De Rohe, Norman Foster( One of my very favorites), Frank Gehry, and soo many more i cant even remember. I would love to write about this in much detail, but am really in a hurry. Well i cant leave out this though, We visited the Sagrada Familia, by Antonio Gaudi. For those of you who dont know about it, its the church built in the late 19th century and is yet to be completed. The minute my eyes fell on the church, i just stood there in AWE. The church was so Unbelievably huge that i felt insignificant and tiny. The work done on the church is beyond human capabilites, i mean the carvings, the detailing, is scary really. More about the architecture works when i come back.

Other than that, we visited the great Barca stadium. The building itself is kind of
of old, but still very beautiful. The whole city is beautiful, i mean their architecture the building´s facades, the materials, it just gives Barca a unique signiture. In addition, we went to the great Catalunya Plaze, were hundreds maybe even thousands of people come every day to work, relax, or shop. Its more of a Boulevard actually. Its really incredible to see how people from all over the world, and when i say all over the world i mean Europe mostly lol, come together.

The shopping was ok i guess, i mean i havent liked anything in particular, because most of their shops are available back at home. And to be honest with you, because i have to get this out of my system, people act weird around arabs. I wear a sheila, and it makes them uncomfortable i guess. I might be imagining this, but i could´ve sworn that kid stood infront of me, took a second look and gave me that disgusting look. Seriously no kidding. I couldnt care really, i just laugh it off.

Well in about two hours our ride is coming to pick us up. We´re taking the Cruise today. I am really excited about that. Lets just hope i meet a ¨Jack¨ there. Oh which reminds me, the guys here are FIIINNEEEEEEE. Am talking really tall, tanned, well build, hazel eyes fine. And this is something i noticed too, everyone here has a funky hair style. They are really stylish here, something i didnt find in the states.

Anyways guys i have to go now. i would love to stay and chat, but my dad is kinda calling me lol. I will try to post something soon. Please excuse any spelling or grammer mistakes, i didnt have time to proof read. Take care all.

B for Betrayal

Ever been betrayed? Not like the “ Oh my friend “bullshitted” behind my back betrayal, or someone slipped out a secret of mine. Naa am talking about the real deal. The one where you can actually feel the brutal stabbing of the knife cutting through your flesh. Yes, that’s the kind of betrayal am talking about, the one you never see coming. I’m talking about the betrayal of someone close to you, someone you trust more than yourself, or atleast you thought you did. Am sure you know what am talking about.

When I was a teenager back in high school that is, I thought that friends who talk behind your back are plain cruel. Life was so simple back then ofcourse. I never thought that those girls who once gossiped are now angels considering what I hear and witness everyday. You see, you think you know someone, you think you can trust someone, until you, the idiot, come to face the vicious reality. In that second, blood rushes through your system so rapidly, you think your head is going to explode, and you cant help but curse yourself for being so STUPID! “ How could I have been so blind, so ignorant, so GOD DAMN STUPID!”

Yesterday, I ran into a so called friend when I was leaving the movie theatre. Someone me and my friends call the “ Midget”. Mean, I know, but who cares. This alleged friend of mine was actually a close friend, or so I thought so. What this midget did is not important, what’s important is that me, the idiot, didn’t do anything about it, hence reaching my point “ What could I have done?”

So really, what do you do when your in a situation like this. Many think walking away is the best way to go, that you shouldn’t waste your breathe on a lost cause. Just like McDreamy, he calmly left the room when he walked in on Addison and McSteamy doing the deed. Others would actually go overboard. For instance, women who turn into ruthless murderers lol; one stab in the heart, and your good to go. I, after cursing myself so many times and finally learning my lesson, choose confrontation, and boy have I mastered it!

Lucky for me, I was given another do-over. I once again felt that pain after being stabbed in the back by someone very close to me. But this time, I actually took action. Little Miss Vixen over here, took matters in her own hands, and confronted her so called friend. Of course the key here was to deal with it with class and elegance. Just because people turn out to be bitches and bastards doesn’t mean you have to descend to their level. With grace, I calmly and confidently talked about the matter, and obviously a backstabber would deny the whole thing, and that’s when you simply hang up or walk away. It just leaves them speechless.

In another situation, which I sadly can’t reveal its details, confrontation only did not quite satisfy me. I was once again betrayed by 2 very close people to me. Because it hurt like hell this time, talking about it and walking away was not enough punishment. So what did I do? I did the complete opposite. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer. I faked forgiveness and planted a smile on my face. Days passed until my ultimate plan commenced. Ofcourse the details here cant be revealed either, but you should know their very tight bond was finally broken by the ultimate power of karma, and it was only then that I walked out on them.

So yeah, where was I again? Right, Betrayal. So my fellow readers, wanna know what feels worse than betrayal? Not seeking revenge, Because MAN IT TASTES GOOD!

A blast from the past

My mood: poke anyone's eye out
My music: my nose

GOD, It's been a long time since my last post. *cough cough* I've been in bed since god knows when "I don't want no sympathy", but seariously; I thought I was dying!

To keep you guys up to date and b4 questioning us "maybe" about M'z and Noura'z disappearnce, M traveled to the States 2 weeks ago, then Noura to Italy a week after that. Then there were two; A and yours truely. Although we had plans after Noura's Italy trip and before A's cruise on the 18th, we didn't get to meet "I got sick n my hunny bunny should better get well soon" I kno0w u hate it A, Fiiinne am kidding lol.

Anyways, I started my AUTOCAD courses yesterday with two friends of mine. Due to some ear malfunctions, I had an embarrassing incident that involved the institution's manager. We had to meet him before signing up, he asked each girl for her name, major, university , etc., and then he turned to me. "What's your name ?" he asked, "Noora" and I smiled. "ABDULAZIZ?" he said, "no; Noora" I replied, and again he said "ABDULAZIZ", I got pissed and I replied back in a high tone "NO, MY NAME IS NOORA!". Then I realized that the guy was introducing himself to us and he was saying "My name is ABDULAZIZ" and I didn't hear that! YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW EMBARRASSING IT WAS TO ME *blushing*.

A coupla days ago, we were talking about our chemistry teacher back in highschool, she was Pakistani and had a funny accent & full lips mashallah. She always invited us to her new saloon in some builing in Bur Dubai and we used to ignore & nod our heads just to shut her up. Guess what? I bumped into her today in the elevator on my way to class. We shaked hands and she invited me again to her saloon on the second floor, I was shocked at first coz it's been 3 years since I last saw her and I was talking about her a few days ago! We approached the saloon, sat on the sofa, reeeeaaaalllyy cold juice was searved *cough cough*. She started talking about the school and how it got seariously messed up after "OUR" graduation..YEEHAA!!! 1 funny thing about her is that she never called me Noora, NEVER, although I told her for a 100 times that my name is Noora, she always called me Noor. It was nice seeing her around, she brought back reaaally good memories. And btw, I didn't expect her hair saloon was that good, it's clean, well planned, and organized (not like some dirty saloons owned by LOCALS) *hint hint*.

p.s. thanks for making my summer so miserable, I mean every summer!

Summer flings

To me summer flings never exsisted. I always believed it is impossible to have a short term relation. I used to value every single relation and expect it to last forever. Guess what, NOT any more. Damn everyone has a summer fling so why shouldnt I. i'll never take it to the next level, not more than a crush and flirting. It may sound sick, and inhumane but i dont care. This summer am up to a new mission; have the time of my life. No matter who am with or where i am, am gonna have loads of fun, keep my emotions and morals aside!! Yes it can happen. Actually am spending my summer in Italy and looking forward to having a great time. Even though i'll be alone, with some friends, whom non are so close, yet i am gona make it enjoyable. People who think alot and consider all factors of a situation will never enjoy their time. I learnt not to bother about anything but myself. Yes, selfish thats it! Am gonna be selfish or call it anything else, as i mentioned i dont give a damn. Anyways the reason am saying this is because its the second time my trip gets postponed, but this time it is confirmed for sure, am travelling on the 5th. Am gonna miss everyone, :'(.. love u my dearest friends ..
